Prince William, who is the heir to the British throne as King Charles’ eldest son, could give his fans a big surprise about his future decision.
The Prince of Wales is said to be preparing to “play a role” at the next major climate control meeting in Brazil.
The next destination for the future stage of the King’s Environmental Initiative annual awards ceremony could be South America, as it has already made stops in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.
Williams’ participation in the 2025 UN climate conference, known as COP30, would be the latest stage in his increasing role as a world statesman. King Charles has attended and given lectures at climate conferences on several occasions.
The next venue for the William’s Earthshot Prize ceremony has yet to be announced, but it is widely expected to take place in South America.
The Earthshot Prize ceremony usually takes place in the first weeks of November, so the Prince of Wales may attend COP30, which takes place from November 10th to 21st.
To date, each of the previous four Earthshot awards ceremonies have taken place on a different continent – Europe in 2021, when the first awards ceremonies were held in London; North America in 2022, when he took the awards to Boston; Asia in 2023 with a stopover in Singapore; and Africa in 2024, as he has just concluded his visit to Cape Town on November 7th.
William has already expressed his desire to bring the Earthshot Prize Awards to South America, as well as China and India.
